In our research-guided teaching, we consolidate topics from the areas of host-pathogen interaction, clinical microbiology and microbiome research.
Since human susceptibility to infections is also influenced by genetic factors, we maintain a close exchange with colleagues from the Diagnostic and Research Institute of Human Genetics on teaching and research. We also confer with colleagues from the Diagnostic and Research Institute of Pathology, who provide clues about mechanisms of disease through analysis of morphological changes in infected organs.
